Software Tester
Thorpe end (Full Time, Permanent)

Software Tester - Thorpe End, Norfolk
We are looking for a software trester to join our existing team.

You will:

- Work with the Enter, ERA, Digital Ingestion and NBS product owners to help them refine test processes and scripts for new releases of these products.
- For each of these products you will become an Expert User and able to provide technical guidance to non-technical users, developers, support staff etc
- Engage with all stake holders early during requirements analysis to ensure success criteria are clear and ready for you to use during testing.
- You will work closely with the Accounting, Business Analysis & Architecture (AB&A) team agreeing tooling and processes for automated testing where ever possible.
- You must be able to develop clear auditable test plans, document the results, clearly articulate failures so that developers can recreate and fix.
- You will need to be able to manipulate database using SQL to set-up tests and research failing tests.
- You will report to the Dawson Development Manager. They will need your signoff on a clean test run for each release before they can signoff the final release to production.
- In your work with the AB&A team you will work on projects to improve development efficiency, and move towards continual integration and deployment.
- You should be aware of the needs of working in an Agile (Scrum org) environment. There may be times when there is little testing to be done. During these times we expect you to grow the breadth of your skills to for example take on tasks in business requirements analysis, support, UI/UX design, script automation etc
- The role of software tester can also be a good onramp into a career in software development. Ideally you will have or develop Java and similar programming skills.
