Materials controller - Crawley, West Sussex
Overview: •To perform all activities involved in receiving, verifying, locating, picking, computer updating and despatching stock in all storage facilities and areas of the business. •Prepare returnable packaging for return to supplier in accordance with the control document epm-m level 1.22.13.41. •To receive and deliver non-product related items. •To receive tool kits returned from use and to ensure that they are correctly identified and stored for onward processing, such as repair or re-calibration, in accordance with control document epm-m level 1.10.6.27. •Present materials in the correct manner as requested by the production area
Responsibilities: •To ensure all items received into the Company via Goods Inwards are correctly and accurately receipted and procedure epm-m level 1.10.5.8 to adhered to. •To accurately and efficiently pick all feeds. •To move stock safely and timely throughout the various areas of the business. •To safely load and unload vehicles as required. •To assist in the operation of the electronic stock control system by cycle counting stock as required, and any other stock count related activities. •To ensure all Elekta product related items received and picked, have been identifed by use of labelling. •To maintain the stock control systems by acurately issuing material and highlighting stock discrepancies. •To adhere to the principles of FIFO (First In First Out), or as otherwise instructed, in all stores activities. •To help maintain good order and cleanliness in the warehouse and yard environment. •To ensure that the quality of stock handled or stored is maintained and to take necessary repacking or other corrective actions as required. •To participate in quality improvements throughout the business as assigned. •To ensure returnable packaging is collated, weighed, measured, identified and returned to the designated supplier, in accordance with the control document epm-m level 1.22.13.41. •To kit and pack items as well as modification, or conversion kits to current export packing specifications. •To ensure all spares capital goods requirements are issued to agreed dates and to ensure the traceable items are clearly identifed on the delivery paperwork. •To wear appropriate protective clothing when necessary and issued uniform at all times. •To carry out any other warehousing duties as could be reasonably expected. •To adhere to all Company Health and Safety and Manual Handling guidelines at all times. AUTHORITIES -
•Forklift truck weekly assessments. •Despatch List completion. •Completion of Goods Received Notes (GRN) Including validation of certificates of conformance (C of Cs). •Stock adjustments up to £100 per line item. •Unlimited material issue using electronic stock control system. •Non Conformance Report (NCR) origination, corrective action and correction signature. •Control of the returnable packaging procedure in accordance with procedure epm-m level 1.22.13.41.
Qualifications: Key Performance Competencies.
•Understand the product structures and how the products are assembled. •Maintain Excel spreadsheets to provide information for other departments. •Ability to prioritise workload •Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Movex programmes required to competently carry out function •Demonstrate a clear understanding of the ‘feed paperwork’
Educational Background, Experience, Skills and Knowledge.
•Experience of an electronically stock controlled environment desirable. •Willingness to accept responsibility •Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills •Experience of Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes an advantage. •Current Reach and Counterbalance Forklift Licences essential •Demonstrate an ability to work with the minimum of supervision. •Good level of numeracy
